A very rare value, absent from, among others, the famous Lucow collection.
This is one of the so-called acceptance specimens. Specially prepared zero-numbered banknotes that served as specimen pieces. Presented at the final stage of preparation for mass printing, for final acceptance of the design.
Three types of such specimens were prepared for the 50 zloty banknotes of the 1946 issue: two showing circulating banknotes (B and S series) and one with SPECIMEN printing (analogous to lower denominations without a numerator). And an example of the latter is the present piece.
It's an item known for its unitary notes, as opposed to cash designs that differ: the typeface of the SPECIMEN inscription, the presence of red cross-outs, and the numbering showing the full range of numerator digits.
Their rarity is well demonstrated by the Onebid archive, where out of more than 40 patterns, only 2 were acceptable (from 2018 and 2020).
