A set of catalogs written by Count Edward Raczynski from 1841-45 - the reference study of Polish medal making to this day. Containing above all the most difficult to obtain volume 3 - covering the Saxon era. Published in the smallest edition, due to the low interest in this era during the partitions.
The first two volumes in the second, expanded Berlin edition (1845).
Volumes III and IV had only one edition, Poznań 1841 and Wrocław 1843, respectively.
Bindings partly contemporary. Original old spines preserved (consistent for all volumes), but front and back covers replaced for all volumes.
Individual block size ~25.5x21 cm for I and II and ~26x21 cm for III and IV.
Interiors complete and fully original. Natural good condition.
Rare publication, especially as a set.
An important item both bibliophilically and still needed and fully usable today.
