"Handbook of numismatics..." of 1914, published for the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Numismatic Society, even today is a fairly common publication and relatively easily available in the original.
Published in the days without a publisher's binding, it was bound, or not, according to the tastes, preferences and budgets of buyers. Today, its attractiveness is judged precisely by the type and quality of binding, provenance and state of preservation.
The present one is perhaps the nicest piece of the "Handbook of...". that we had the pleasure to offer.
Texts and tables co-bound. Very good quality half leather binding with gilt, good workshop.
Natural signs of use, but no wear and no damage.
Beautiful!
It was also similarly appraised by its current owner - an experienced numismatist, who purchased it for his library nearly 20 years ago for a sum in the order of 2,000 zlotys, when meanwhile typical pieces were available for low several hundred.
Definitely recommended.
