A very rare numismatic coin.
Print in silver of the Vicariate donation of August II.
Made on a disc weighing half a thaler.
Piece of this weight was described in David Samuel Madai's"Thaler Cabinet" (published in 1765-1774) as "Halber Vicariatsthaler". Other, lighter prints are also known in museum collections.
The first issue of vicariate coins of the Polish king. The name comes from the privilege of the Saxon electors, who according to it exercised the vicariate in the Saxon district after the death of the emperor. Coins of various denominations were minted to mark the occasion. Most of the 1711 issues depicted the king pinning a horse; other depictions, such as this one, are noticeably rarer.
Silver, diameter 33 mm, weight 14.1 g.
