The only portrait thaler of August II the Strong from the issue for Poland.
Very rare type, noticeably rarer than thalers with the Order of Dannebrog.
A distinctive, large coin with the king's image on the obverse and an interesting reverse depicting: a crowned St. Andrew's cross with a five-field shield centrally, with the Order of the Elephant hanging on a ribbon.
Struck at the Leipzig mint, with the distinctive Pike and the initials EP-H (Ernst Peter Hecht).
Piece removed from the setting (vaulted edge, traces of fixing on the reverse) and a smoothed background.
Silver, diameter 41 mm, weight 27.75 g.
