The second vintage of August III's thalers from his issue for Poland, the so-called Banco-Taler.
Contrary to his oath in the Pacta conventa, and without the permission of the Sejm and Senate, King August III begins issuing coins for Poland in 1749, in Dresden. First copper crown shekels, in subsequent years supplementing the issues with silver and gold coins. Thalers were minted only in 1753-1756, where their issues for Saxony lasted practically throughout the reign (1734-1763).
Variety with a skinnier bust of the king, with a cross-section of the fabric shoulder visible. Reverse with additional ribbons departing from the palm branch binding.
Nice luster and patina of the former collection.
