A rare and highly regarded sample of the Second Republic period.
Sample of a ten-zloty coin designed by Antoni Madeyski, which took second place in the competition for the design of the first gold coin of the Second Republic, announced in 1925. The competition was won by Zofia Trzcinska-Kaminska's work with Boleslaw Chrobry.
The distinctive design depicting a worker with an axe and a workeress, inscribed in a wreath of fruits and vegetables, lived to see only a trial issue.
Mintage of 100 pieces.
The coin is difficult to grade digitally. With a very nice live presentation, however, with visible carbonization in the lower half of the reverse and lower part of the obverse, as well as on the rim. At the same time with very nice non-circular detail. In an even, dark patina.
Bronze, diameter 20.5 mm, weight 3.35 g.
