Very rare, the highest denomination of the reign of Charles Christian Wettin, Prince of Poland.
The son of August III was elected to the throne of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia thanks to his father's political endeavors and the support of Empress Elizabeth. His reign, based on a weak foundation, with resistance from the Kurland nobility, did not last long. After only four years, in 1762, he was besieged in the capital, and was replaced by John Biron, who returned to Courland. However, he used the last year to preserve his reign in coinage, minting a range of coins from the shekel to the sixpence. The latter are his rarest denomination.
Very nice state of preservation. Coin with natural luster. In a light patina.
