The issuance of dwudenars on the model of Lithuanian ones, which began in 1578, was discontinued just a year later at the instance of Lithuanian Chancellor Mykolas Radvil and the Seimas, as the coins were supposed to be inferior to the dwudenars of the time of Sigismund Augustus, on the model of which they were minted.
