Frederick Krystian, as the eldest surviving son, inherited the title of Elector of Saxony upon his father's death. However, he held the title for only a few months, from October 5, 1763, as he died of smallpox on December 17 of that year.
Leipzig issue, in a variety with the initials I.F.ó.F. under the shield of the coat of arms.
