A very rare brakteat denarius with a specific minting technique, described by Prof. B. Paszkiewicz as a "pleonastic half-brakteat" i.e. "(...) with interpenetrating stamps of two sides, repeating the same content".
The issue attributed to the Gniezno mint, dated to the 1330s.
It depicts a head in front, with shoulder-length hair. In the rim the inscription: +ADVTBERIVS, a distorted notation of St. Adalbert's name.
Distinctive chipping of the disc.
Silver, diameter ~16 x 17 mm, weight 0.15 g.
