A distinctive, first type of Danzig thalers minted under the reign of John Casimir.
A type with an ornate shield of the city's coat of arms and a bust of the king in foliate armor decorated with rivets and rosettes.
Noticeably rarer than Type II with an oval shield, as confirmed by our archive, where out of 19 thalers from that year, only 2 were of this early type. Last seen in 2018!
A typologically rare, hard-to-find coin.
Silver, diameter 44.5 mm, weight 27.89 g.
