King Wladyslaw's city thaler, which, despite a trace of the removal of the pendant and chiselwork, was part of two famous Polish collections.
The coin came from the collections of the Potocki family (collector's punca in the field, behind the figure), and Tadeusz Kalkowski (complete with a large-format envelope from his collection).
In compliance with the ban on minting small coinage established during the reign of Sigismund III, Torun under his son limited its activities to minting only ducats, thalers and half-talars. Minting coinage continuously throughout his reign.
A variety with an early notation of the ruler's name (VLADIS IIII instead of VLADISL IV), without the mint mark above the Angel's head (three dots instead of a decorative cross).
