Rare, early vintage in attractive state of preservation.
The coin is well stamped, in the patina of an old hoard, with a lustrous shine.
The Torun mint during the reign of John Casimir had been in operation since the year of his coronation, minting first thalers and ducats, and after the ban on minting lower denominations was lifted, also shekels, two-groats and just orts.
Being an early type for this vintage: with a portrait of the king with his armor epaulet exposed, and the titulature ending in PRVs, and the reverse with a legend with notation from ARGENT.
Bits with initials HI-L, probably belonging to Hans Jacob Lauer.
