A nice city thaler of King Wladyslaw IV in a cabinet-like patina.
In compliance with the ban on minting small coinage established during the reign of Sigismund III, Torun under his son limits its activities to minting only ducats, thalers and half-talers. Minting coinage continuously throughout his reign.
A variety with an early notation of the ruler's name (VLADIS IIII instead of VLADISL IV), without the mint mark above the Angel's head (three dots instead of a decorative cross).
A rare numismatic coin.
