Lot description
Grade: XF+
Reference: Garbaczewski 187, Paszkiewicz-Haczewska 14

One of the most beautiful brakteates attributed to Leszek the White, or even in the entire Piast minting.

Depicting a dragon with outspread wings, maw facing backwards and a twisted tail, standing over a floral motif.

Interpreted by W. Garbaczewski as a symbol of the power of the ruler.

Beautiful luster. A very attractive brakteat. Slight flaw in the metal plate on the reverse. Very nicely preserved dragon relief. Mint luster and patina.

Silver, diameter 15 mm, weight 0,12 g.
