One of two icons of Polish medieval minting. Today it is noticeably rarer than the first one - the Princes Polonie type denarius.
The coin was for a long time considered the first Polish coin, minted during the reign of Mieszko I.
Symbolic type that now adorns circulating 10 zloty banknotes.
Recent research attributes this coin, whose rim reads the name of Mieszko, to the issue of Mieszko II, son of Boleslaw the Brave from the time of his co-regency with Boleslaw.
Very nice state of preservation.
Obverse: outline of a hill with a cross standing on it, on the sides two inclined hooks(?), in the legend of the rim visible fragments of the inscription MISI[CO].
Reverse: straight cross topped with crossbars, between its arms balls, in the rim on the extensions of the cross arms swastikas (a sign symbolizing good luck, prosperity)
Silver, diameter 19.5 mm, weight 1.50 g.
