A beautifully presented semi-taler, unfortunately mechanically scraped on the royal portrait. Other than that, this is a coin in attractive second condition, with a mint mirror on the obverse.
The last vintage of the semi-talars with the third type of royal portrait. The distinctive bust of Stanislaw Augustus without a ribbon in his hair.
In 1783, a top-down decision is made to change the bust of Stanislaw Augustus on the coins. It applies to all portrait coins of this king (from zloty to ducat) from 1783-1785, with the exception of copper triplets. But only in the case of semi-talars is this type issued for only two years.
Rare.
