"Experienced Believes," as the reverse of this trial two-zloty coin proclaims to us, a 1771 issue, not introduced into circulation, whose stamps were prepared by the royal court medallicist.
An issue alluding - both in images and slogans - to the purpose of its introduction, which was to supplant counterfeit coinage by introducing money struck in pure silver. Hence, on the present two-gold coin, we see a hand rolling the money on a proof stone and the slogan EXPERTUS CREDIT.
The present piece is a later print made with the original stamps, as indicated by its weight. An early print, as evidenced by the lack of obvious cracks in the stamps or other damage. Very nice.
