Lot description
Grade: VF+
Reference: Bitkin 63 (R1)

The first, of only two vintages of halftines from the short reign of Catherine I.

Very rare type for the Moscow mint (without the letters СПБ).

Depicting the Tsarina facing right, not left, as is the case on her first rubles, among others.

Highly estimated by Bitkin (R1), among others, who for this vintage of połtin noted 6 obverse stamps with Catherine to the left, and only 2 to the right.

A nicely preserved, healthy, defect-free piece.

Silver, diameter 33.5 mm, weight 14.04 g.
