Beautifully preserved, the first gold coin of Poland from the interwar period.
The silver one-zloty coin was commissioned to be made by the Mint in Paris, due to the technological unreadiness of the state-owned plant. The choice of Paris was made in the middle of the year, despite noting a problem found on all 1924 gold coins, namely shallow minting. As we read in J. Chalupski's catalog, "according to the contract, it was expected that the order would be completed within four weeks...". However, this turned out to be unrealistic, and the first zlotys were not issued for circulation until January 20, 1925.
A mint masterpiece, with unprecedented freshness of the obverse and a very nicely reflected for Paris reverse.
