A very rare Toruń medal from the time of Augustus II the Strong.
As its reverse proclaims"So Toruń has stood for 500 years, saved from more than one danger...". and it was on this occasion that this medal was minted on the initiative of the residents. Commemorating its founding in 1231, when the Teutonic Knights who warred against the Prussians settled, and its location in 1235 on the present site of the city.
A very nice medal in composition.
