The first vintage of the crown shekels of August III in a beautiful state of preservation.
In 1749, without permission from the Sejm and the Senate, King August III commissioned the mint in Dresden to mint the first batch of coins for Poland. In doing so, he violated the oath contained in the Pacta conventa, in which he pledged not to produce Crown coins outside its borders.
The shekels made in Dresden at the time are the most beautiful of the entire issue, and we can appreciate their exquisite style especially on beautiful pieces like this one. A natural, uncirculated piece with a chocolate patina. With a cabinet-like surface, very rare for these coins.
