A beautiful denarius that is one of the few monetary mementos of the reign of Louis of Hungary in Poland.
This Hungarian king, considered one of the country's most prominent rulers (known there as Louis the Great), became king of Poland after the heirless death of Casimir the Great. During his reign, due to the lack of a male descendant, he ensured the succession to his daughters - Maria in Hungary and Jadwiga in Poland.
