The first information on Michal Swinarski dates back to 1838, when he was a terminator and apprentice at a craftsmen's Sunday school and received a reward for his work. In 1853, when he married Emilia Leuge Makomaska, he already owned his own workshop, the property of which was described in the premarital agreement. He lived and worked on Trębacka Street. The offerings of Michal Swinarski's workshop included table silverware, cutlery and a variety of cult vessels, Judaica and church equipment. His skills showed in the design and creation of works such as the monumental monstrance made for All Saints' Church in Warsaw.
On the side of the base is scored a Russian probationary punca, the goldsmith's name in italics, and his trademark. The candlestick was hallmarked in 1858, in Warsaw, by probie Walery Kostrebski.
