A band from a 1940 500 zł banknote featuring “Góral”—a piece of the type used to bundle a stack of seven 1944 500 zł banknotes from the first issue bearing the “mandatory” mark.
Since the 1944 500 zł banknote is taller (approx. 193 mm vs. 181 mm for the “Góral” note), these 500-zł notes were folded in half. We discussed this intriguing item in a video, which we’ve linked below.
