A striking color attempt of a hundred-dollar banknote with a worker, the color dominant of the obverse of which is close to the already-finally accepted one.
Here we have a red color scheme (as on the circulating banknotes), with a slightly different hue), but with a completely differently made rosette of the denomination - purple-dark yellow (much "livelier" than the subdued circulating banknotes).
The reverse with a gradient going from purple, through red, to violet.
This is one of six very rare color samples of the '48 issue one-hundred-dollar coin offered as part of the Janusz Położenko collection, showing the process of arriving at the color that eventually made it into circulation. So far, over 20 years of history, only single pieces of samples of this banknote have come to us. Only individual collections can boast a whole sequence - including the Lucow collection, in which these samples bear the high R8 rarity grade.
