One of two color samples with a purple color dominant, which distinguish the execution of the reverse.
This is a beautiful reverse with a gradient going from purple, to red, to violet.
One of six very rare color swatches of the hundred-dollar coin of issue '48 offered as part of the collection of Janusz Położenko, and showing the process of arriving at the color that eventually went into circulation. So far, over 20 years of history, only single pieces of samples of this banknote have come to us. Only individual collections can boast a whole sequence - including the Lucow collection, in which these samples bear the high R8 rarity grade.
