Extremely rare type of coin from the Cracow period of the reign of Henry the Bearded.
A coin of a typically inaugural character, commemorating the assumption of ducal power. Anonymous (without the duke's name), but nevertheless with a very characteristic iconography - a figure with a beard. The fact that the beard punctuates the ottoman inscription here is significant. It testifies to the importance of this element in relation to the figure depicted.
The coin was struck during the period of inscriptionless brakteates, also all the more reason to appreciate its uniqueness.
The fourth known piece.
1 piece in MNK, complete but crumbled, after restoration and 2 pieces in private collections, including 1 piece whole but shallowly struck and 1 piece fragmentary, about 2/3 of the coin.
Silver, diameter ~14.5 mm, weight 0.06 g.
