A rare denomination of monastic minting.
The pennies of this ruler, minted from 1513 onward, are coins that survived the economically devastating war with Poland (1519-1521), the loss of their real value (undersampling of silver, the so-called Tippelgroschen) and exchange for new money already after the collapse of the monastic state in 1525. This contributed to their rarity today and few quotations on the antiquarian market.
The 1516 yearbook confirms the above information. The coin is practically unheard of at auctions.
The first time in the history of our company.
Very nice. Production disc crack, otherwise with very nice detail and patina.
