A coin that captivates with its live presentation, due to its excellent mint luster. A luster that, especially on the obverse, is even unprecedented for a Paris issue. All in the patina of the former collection. The reverse, characteristically for this mint, shallowly struck.
Here is the first of three large reapers from the first vintage of their only two-year issue. Their production, like the one-zloty coins, took place abroad. The contract was split between mints in Paris, Philadelphia and Birmingham, with London joining them the following year. The present French reaper is distinguished by the mint marks placed next to the date (horn of plenty and torch).
