The rarer of two medals by Roman artist Otto Hamerani (court medalist to three popes) commemorating important events in the life of Polish princess Clementina Sobieska.
The first is the famous medal commemorating the escape from Insbruck (present in this auction under item 6075). The second, this one, already commemorates her wedding to English Prince James Stuart, which took place in September 1709.
