A racy cabinet thaler.
Beautiful, especially as the high denomination of this king. With virtually uncirculated relief, in a drawer-like, even patina.
This is the first vintage of thalers from the "coarse coinage" minting period. The time after the implementation of the parliamentary resolution ordering the cessation of minting of fine coinage and the issuance of only high denominations: thalers and ducats.
With a beautiful representation of the king, characteristic of this vintage: a broad bust with a sword, royal apple and sash. Much nicer artistically than those of subsequent anniversaries, which were already minted on a much larger scale than the 1627 vintage.
