The year 1630 is one of the most interesting annuals of thaler minting in Bydgoszcz, in which there are several changes in the representation of the king. It describes four main types. The present one is a broad, majestic portrait, particularly distinguished by its large, ornate armor epaulet. It was introduced in this year and was practically extinguished in it (only single pieces from 1631 are known).
Variety without errors in the legends. King's fingers in neutral alignment.
Variant with punctuation in the form of stars.
Very nice piece with preserved natural surface luster. Other than a slight rubbing under the patina, we see no reason for the lack of a numerical note. Shallower runout on the reverse, but attractive detail, definitely above average. All in a light patina that adds to the charm.
