A distinctive denarius of Boleslaw the Tall, the eldest son of Ladislaus the Exile, with a reverse referring to his father's issue.
Struck in Wrocław, dated 1173-1190.
On the obverse one can see the letters VS, which used to be interpreted as Sanctus Adalbertus, but nowadays, as Boris Paszkiewicz writes: "it would be an abbreviation of the name Vladizlaus."
Very nice.
Silver, diameter 15.5 mm, weight 0.32 g.
