A very rare coin, which was absent, among others, from the famous collection of medieval coins from our 10th auction.
A denarius from the Racibor mint, of the "prince on horseback / fighting a lion" type, from the reign of Mieszko I Plątonogi. Dated to the first half of his reign (~1177-1190).
Considered an issue of one of the sons of Ladislaus the Exile due to, among other things, the iconography referring to his coins. Formerly also attributed to the Piasts of Greater Poland (Wladyslaw Laskonogi or Odonic - due to the coincidence of the representation of the obverse with his seal).
Only the second listing in our history.
